How Athletika collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. Plain-language summary first; legal text where it matters.

The short version

We collect the data we need to make Athletika work — your account, your sessions, your payments. We don't sell coach or client data, and we never repackage it for advertising. You own your data and can export it at any time.

What we collect

Account data: your name, email, password (hashed), profile information you provide, and language/region preferences.

Coaching data: if you're a coach — programs, client rosters, session notes. If you're an athlete — your logged sessions, progress metrics, and the coaches you work with.

Payment data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We store transaction records and payout details; we never see or store card numbers directly.

Operational data: device info, IP address, browser fingerprint for security; analytics events for understanding what works on the platform.

How we use it

  • To run the platform (deliver sessions, process payments, send notifications).
  • To improve features based on aggregate usage — never tied to identifiable users in our analytics.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, secure accounts, and comply with legal obligations.
  • To communicate with you about your account, billing, and important platform changes.

Who we share it with

With coaches you work with: if you're an athlete and you sign up with a coach, your training data is shared with that coach as part of the service.

With service providers: payment processors (Stripe), hosting (AWS), email (Postmark), analytics (opt-in only). Each has its own privacy commitments.

With nobody else. We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. We don't share it with advertisers.

Your rights

  • Access: see all data we hold about you.
  • Export: download your data in a portable format.
  • Correction: fix anything inaccurate.
  • Deletion: close your account and have your personal data removed (legal obligations may require retention of some records).
  • Objection: opt out of analytics; restrict processing.
